Gardening promotes healthy lifestyles, early learning experiences, social development, and environmental stewardship among preschool children. Child care providers will engage in experiential learning gardening activities (crafts, learning activities, literacy, container gardening basics, and taste testing).
This will be offered at the Washington County Extension Office, from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m., May 17. There is a registration fee. Registration is required by May 10, using the online DHS training registry https://ccmis.dhs.state.ia.us/TrainingRegistry/Home.aspx or by calling ISU Extension and Outreach - Washington County 319-653-4811. The class will be taught by Rachel Wall, MS, RD, LD Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, ISU Extension and Outreach.
