A Sustainable Gardening Workshop and Seed Swap is planned 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Fairfield Public Library.
The free event is hosted by Green Iowa AmeriCorps in partnership with Maharishi University of Management, Southeast Iowa Food Hub, and Sustainable Living Coalition.
In honor of ?National Plant a Flower Day,? community member Sascha Kyssa will present a program on sustainable gardening methods for healthy, tasty vegetables. His presentation will include multiple sustainable gardening styles and ecological principles applied to a vegetable garden for robust yields.
After the presentation, an introduction to seed saving is planned. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other gardeners, swap their extra seeds and check out the library?s Seed Bank to get ready for the new growing season.
Refreshments will be provided.
