Garrett honored for 53 years in Washington Kiwanis
Dean Garrett was honored Wednesday, June 30, for his 53 years of service as a Kiwanis member. Garrett, a member of the Washington Noon Kiwanis club, joined Kiwanis in October of 1968 and retired from the club this year. During his time in Kiwanis, Dean was a faithful member, recently having been recognized with 50 years of perfect attendance.
The Noon Kiwanis club presented him a certificate of appreciation for his dedication and service to the Kiwanis organization as well as a scrapbook highlighting over 30 times that he was recognized in The Washington Evening Journal for his involvement in the club. Garrett has traveled all over the state and the world with the organization, attending meetings locally and as far away as Spain.
