Garry Wayne Seyb

Garry Wayne Seyb, Sr., 67, of Donnellson, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

Friends may call after 1 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4 at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, with Rev. Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be at the Evangelical Cemetery in Donnellson. Memorials may be made in his memory.

Seyb was born July 22, 1947, in Keokuk, the son of Kenneth and Ida (Lewis) Seyb. On Aug. 18, 1965, he married Charlotte M. Pilkington at the United Church of Christ Church in Donnellson.

Seyb became a LPN after attending school at the North Dakota State School of Science. He worked as a caregiver and a farmer. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church. Seyb enjoyed woodworking, sewing, vacationing, the Old Threshers Reunion, the Iowa State Fair, playing cards, working on his 1913 Buick, antique lamps, farming, coin collecting and gardening.

Seyb is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of Donnellson; three sons, Gary W. (Joyce) Seyb, Jr., of Keokuk; Bill Seyb, of Donnellson; and Peter (Kelli) Seyb, of Keokuk; three daughters, Maggie (Barry) Davis, of Donnellson; Sarah (Matt) Tweedy, of Donnellson; and Laura (Donnie) McDowell, of Donnellson; 16 grandchildren; and one brother, Kent Seyb, of Donnellson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
