DoodleBlessings is a family owned business of the Jason and Christina Collier family. They have been raising mini Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles since 2019. Christina takes care of most of the business with Jason helping with maintenance and puppy care. Their children help with puppy care as well.
On Friday, Jason Collier drove on treacherous roads to get to Des Moines so he could board a plane at Des Moines Airport on Saturday morning for Denver, Colorado to deliver a puppy, named Ginger. While at the airport one of the stewardesses from Phoenix, AZ became interested in acquiring a puppy of her own.
She saw a picture online and fell in love with their remaining puppy, and she asked him to deliver it and meet her in St. Louis. Jason, who is pastor of the United Church of Crawfordsville and the Ainsworth Community Church had the day off on Sunday due to extreme cold and snow, drove to St. Louis with the puppy," Charlie . On Monday he met a family in Silvis, IL. who were taking their puppy, "Monster Cookie"" back to Chicago.
A little background of the dog business. All the dogs are family born and raised. They strive to raise smart, happy, healthy and fun loving pups.
Starting puppies off right is super important to them. From the moment they are born they start ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) , which improves the puppies' stress responses, desensitizing them to touch and sounds, socializing and the beginning of potty training.
Many of the puppies have grown to become therapy dogs or emotional support dogs. They have one that is now working in a nursing home and one in an elementary school. Christina has heard of three or four owners who take their dogs to nursing homes on a regular basis.
They have sold puppies in 19 states. Most drive to the Colliers to get their pets, but others are flown, as Jason did on Saturday.
Many of their puppies are purchased online and they give discounts to all military/police/fire/EMS or teachers. They have breeding rights and stud fees, as well.
The Collier's feel that word of mouth is the best way to advertise and because of this they offer referral bonuses. Every puppy that goes home and the new family tells them they referred them to the Colliers gets a bonus --one puppy per referred family. Once they are sold they become part of the DoodleBlessings family There is no limit to families they refer. Christina stays in touch with most families and many have returned to purchase a second or third puppy.
