Children love to make their own presents. However, the natural limitations of youth, accessibility to materials, and ability level create obstacles in keeping gifts secret. Your child may overcome these barriers by attending the Holiday Gift Making ? For Kids! Program. The Washington County Conservation Board scheduled the Gift Making program from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park.
Give yourself a couple of child-free hours while your children enjoy making gifts for their loved ones. Drop off your children, age 4 or older, and they will spend their time making a nature-inspired gift or two. The gifts will be age-appropriate but not publicized in order to keep the secret. When you return for your children, their present will be gift-wrapped and labeled ? a true surprise for you or another loved one.
For safety reasons, children must be signed in and out by an adult and an emergency contact number given.
There is a material fee for this program.
Marr Park is located 7 miles east of Washington and 1 mile west of Ainsworth on Highway 92. The Conservation Education Center is located in the south end of the park.
