Fall is in the air and that means Girl Scouts of Henry County have geared up for their fall product sale program.
Girl Scouts will begin selling nuts, candy and magazines - just in time for the upcoming holiday season. The fall product sale program runs through Oct. 23. The fall product sale program provides a jumpstart at the beginning of the Girl Scout year for girls to work toward reaching the goals they have set for themselves. Girl Scouts have many different aspirations, whether it?s to take a trip, host a community event or go on a horseback-riding adventure.
Prior to the fall program, the girls must decide on a goal, assess the funds necessary to achieve that goal and work together to make it happen. In addition to helping girls reach their dreams, the fall product sale teaches them valuable life skills including customer service, money management and teamwork.
Sale activities feature age appropriate lessons that combine business basics with the fun commonly associated with Girl Scouts activities. The program builds leadership, financial and literacy skills, with girls actively making discoveries and decisions about marketing, budgeting and goal setting.
The fall product sale will feature a limited - edition GS Camp Pack backpack tin filled with chocolate covered mints. In addition, the line of treats include caramel treasures, cashews, chocolate covered almonds, dark chocolate caramel topped with sea salt, English butter toffee, dark chocolate mint penguins, deluxe pecan clusters, peanut butter bears, Dulce De Leche owls, chocolate covered peanuts, honey mustard pretzel mix, salsa mix, butter toasted peanuts, fruit slices and new this year one pound honey roasted mixed nuts jar.
You can place an order by calling either of the Henry County Service Unit directors, Dawn Hixson at 319-217-0826, or Rhonda Runyon at 319-371-5720 or emailing gsserviceunit940@gmail.com.
