Eight seventh-grade Cadettes and one Daisy of Girl Scout Troop 9297 recently designed their own Thanksgiving service project: Thanksgiving Dinner for the Animals at Noah?s Ark Animal Foundation.
The girls spent several hours designing pet faces for advertising and then set up two separate collection booths during the past weekend to accept donations. Additionally, the girls realized goals are seldom accomplished alone. The Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store provided them with a warm, indoor location for their booth, and donors provided pet food, treats, and $101 to ensure a meal for the animals this Thanksgiving season.
The troop delivered the money and food Tuesday after school to Noah?s Ark.
The troop members are: Laurel Hilger, Abyni Garner, Jenna Wickenkamp, Samara Roemen, Kiersten Price, TeAnna Simons, Sophie Stratton and Jillion McIntyre. The troop leaders are Bonnie Hilger and Billie Jo Wiley.
