GOLDEN SPEAKERS TOASTMASTERS

Beginning Tuesday, Golden Speakers Toastmasters Club of Fairfield will hold its weekly meetings in the Hy-Vee Club Room at the Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store.

Meetings are held from 7:40-9:15 p.m. on Tuesdays.

?Hy-Vee is perfect for accommodating our growing club and continued success,? said Golden Speakers President Rhonda Whittaker.

According to the Golden Speakers leadership, Hy-Vee management has been enthusiastic and helpful in facilitating the new location. The leaders said Hy-Vee corporate offices have long experience with Toastmasters, having supported a corporate Toastmasters club for years. Golden Speakers Toastmasters met for the past 13 years at First United Methodist Church.

The organization is preparing to celebrate its 25th anniversary this summer.

VFW AUXILIARY

The Ladies Auxiliary to Dimmitt-Vorhies Post 2271 met Feb. 10 at the post home.

The charter was draped for Jean Ann Smith. A memorial was sent to St. Mary Catholic Church.

A Rescare dance was set for Feb. 12 at the post home, with cookies, punch and music provided.

May Watson gave an update on the district meeting held in New London. The next district meeting will be held in April in Mt. Pleasant.

One new member was installed to the auxiliary.

The audit was read and approved.

Shirley Kitch discussed the ?I Love America? contest.

The next meeting will be March 10 at the post home. All auxiliary sisters are invited to attend the meeting.
