Grant Wood guided bus tour April 16

ELDON ? Grant Wood enthusiasts will have an opportunity to see the famous painter?s works and home when the American Gothic House Center presents a guided tour April 16.
The trip will first take riders to Davenport for a tour of the Figge Art Museum?s regionalist collection, which features many works by Wood. The tour also includes the museum?s exhibit on railroad photography. Following the Figge, a tour of the University of Iowa Museum of Art in Iowa City will feature Wood?s painting ?Plaid Sweater.? The guided tour will then take participants to Wood?s Iowa City home before concluding with a 5:45 p.m. meal at Old Country Buffet.
Fairfield residents will be picked up at 10 a.m. and dropped off at 8:30 p.m., Eldon residents picked up at 9:30 a.m. and dropped off at 9 p.m., and Ottumwa residents picked up at 9 a.m. and dropped off at 9:30 p.m. All times are approximations and subject to change.
