The Fairfield Volunteer Center is offering a workshop on Writing Strong Proposals March 22 at the McElhinny House.
Grant Writing 101 will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and focus on assessing needs and researching funding sources.
Grant Writing 102 will be 1:30-3:45 p.m. and focus on designing a program and writing a proposal.
The workshop will be presented by the Fairfield Volunteer Center?s executive director Elaine Hughes, who brings an extensive background in managing both statewide and national grant programs. Her experience includes developing proposal applications, known as RFPs, teaching grant writing, designing the review process and training reviewers and being a grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
?We hope this will be the first in a series of workshops and technical assistance offerings to build fundraising knowledge and skills in our community,? said Hughes. ?While our primary focus is on strengthening the nonprofit sector, we encourage anyone who is seeking a grant award to join us.?
While space is limited, there are still a couple of openings. To register, call Hughes at 209-0110 or email her at elaineh.fvc@gmail.com.
The morning session fee is $10, and the afternoon session is $20. The fee for both sessions combined is $25.
