Greater Jefferson County Foundation Scholarships deadline is Feb. 1

The Greater Jefferson County Foundation reminds all graduating FHS and Pekin Senior Students that the scholarship applications end Feb. 1 at 4 p.m.
Some online applications are available through the Foundation’s Scholarship Website at www.gjcfscholarships.org. Both FHS and Pekin students are encouraged to apply through the website. Other paper applications are available through the FHS counselor’s office.
The Foundation is honored to announce a new scholarship this year. The Howard & Donna Clark Scholarship is available for either Pekin and FHS senior students who plan to attend college or trade school. This scholarship is two at $3,000.00 each and the criteria is studies in Medicine or Agriculture/Business.
The Foundation’s scholarship program offers a wide range of financial need-based scholarships, but specific criteria scholarships are also available. Among these are Health-Care based scholarships that include Nursing, Medicine, and any Health-related fields. There are scholarships directed for music, teaching, business, agriculture, conservation, political science, and many more. The website provides a description of the scholarships available.
The Foundation’s scholarship program began in 1987 with one $20,000 donation and in 2022, the Foundation disbursed over $150,000.00 to graduating FHS and Pekin students through 51 scholarships. This includes pass-through scholarships offered by Dexter Laundry, the Albregts Family Foundation and Crystal Group.
