In Old Business, members talked about the successful bake sale held on Saturday, May 23, and what they did well, and what they can improve on for future ones. It was noted that everyone brought a variety of baked goods and the presentation of our items helped them sell quickly. Thank you to Kerri Bell for volunteering to oversee the bake sale. Thank you to Ellie and Sophie Bell who brought their Green Acres pennants to display. Members were urged to bring pictures and to wear their 4-H shirt for the next meeting so they can use them for our club pride board that will be used all year long by the 4-H office. State fair deadlines were discussed. They talked about ideas for the hay bale contest and were told to come to the next meeting with some good ideas and types of inexpensive materials to use on them.
In New Business, discussions were held about having a meeting based on scrapbooking how-to?s which will take place in August. Club leader, Tanya Stalder got a design for our club apparel. Club members who would like to purchase some Green Acres 4-H Club apparel will have to contact Tanya is they haven?t already as she will place orders this week so we have them in time for the county fair. Mike Todd made the club livestock signs with wood that he donated for Rabbit barn, Cattle barn and Horse barn club signs. Kerri Bell will purchase the paint and vinyl to make the signs. The club members that show livestock will meet and paint the signs next month. Ellie Bell motioned to use some of the money they made at the bake sale to purchase a 4-H Club starter kit, Bailey Rees seconded it. Ellie Bell will order the kit.
Ellie Todd motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Maggie Smith. Maggie Smith led the 4-H Pledge.
After the meeting was adjourned, Emma Craig gave a presentation on ?Basic Goldfish Care.? Millie Craig gave a presentation over ?What happens when you put Mentos in Coke?? Bailey Rees gave a presentation on her ?Hamster, Bella.?
