'Green and Growing' day camp held

The Washington County Extension Office held a ?Green and Growing? Day Camp on June 16 and 17. The camps were held at Riverside and Marr Park. Both days contained the same fun and excitement in relation to everything green and growing. Around 25 second - and third - graders attended the camps.

Students who attended the camp participated in a variety of activities throughout the day. Students were able to go on a seed scavenger hunt, grow their own grass gardens, create their own composts and play a variety of games. The highlight of the day was learning what makes up soil and creating a take-home compost bottle with gravel, food scraps, newspaper, and WORMS!
