Greenhorn Grazing Tuesday
WASHINGTON, Iowa ? Area livestock producers are invited to attend a Greenhorn Grazing workshop Tuesday at the Kurt and Jan Dallmeyer farm.
A variety of topics will be covered during this session. The fee is $15 and includes a light meal and materials.

WASHINGTON, Iowa ? Area livestock producers are invited to attend a Greenhorn Grazing workshop Tuesday at the Kurt and Jan Dallmeyer farm.
A variety of topics will be covered during this session. The fee is $15 and includes a light meal and materials.
The session will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office. An attorney will discuss leases and Iowa fence law. Byron Leu, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach beef program specialist, will discuss nutrition using BRANDS computer software. The session will then move to the Dallmeyer farm where they will share information on facilities, alternative feeds, sorghum sudan grass and cover crops. The program will conclude at 6 p.m.
The Greenhorn Grazing Series is sponsored by ISU Extension and Outreach, Iowa Beef Center, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture and the Southern Iowa Forage and Livestock Committee.
