The Fairfield Park and Recreation Department is offering gymnastics classes for children 3-14 years old starting Monday at the Roosevelt Recreation Center.
Two sessions will last six days each and take place in the evenings, on either Mondays or Thursdays. Classes will be split up into age divisions.
The program is structured to help children develop balance, body positions, flexibility, self-confidence and strength. Students will be taught basic to advanced gymnastic skills at an individual level. They will begin floor tumbling as well as movement on the beam and bar.
Jeff Ide, who has more than 30 years of gymnastic experience, will instruct the children. Ide will be helped by an assistant during individualized instruction.
Each six-day session will cost $30-45 per child.
To register for either session or for information, call the park and rec office at 472-6159. Forms also may be filled out at the rec center or online at www.fairfieldparks andrec.com.
