The H.J. Club held a May meeting at the Pizza Ranch in Washington, with seven members and three guests present. The roll call was ?A remembrance of one of Washington?s past anniversary celebrations." Several interesting stories were told.
Guest speaker David Horsey spoke on ?Washington in 1939.? He gave an interesting account of the schools and stores at the time of Washington?s 100th anniversary celebration, which he illustrated with many photos and other memorabilia.
A discussion was held on a book being purchased to honor deceased member Viola Kasper, which will be placed in one of the local libraries.
The next meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12 ? one week earlier than the usual meeting time ? at the home of Jan Marek. Joleen Krotz will serve as co-hostess.
