Halcyon House hosts free ukulele sessions
Feb. 19, 2023 4:29 pm
Music is in our DNA. It is part of what makes us human. We at Halcyon House have wonderful opportunities in Washington to listen to and create music, even if we believe we are not a musician. Our free ukulele sessions at Halcyon House are a great music related opportunity for individuals, family and friends.
If you don’t want to play, or don’t have an instrument, you would be welcome to visit and sing along. It is not necessary to be able to read music in order to create music on the ukulele, due to a simple system to guide the player. There are many, many songs that may be played at a basic level. And there are many more challenging scores of every genre for those who want to advance in their music making activities.
A regularly scheduled group meets twice a month, the first Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and second Friday of the month at 2:30 p.m. at the Halcyon House facility in Washington. Other opportunities for playing, performances and gatherings are scheduled throughout the year. Attend a session with a group of players to check it out. Go to the ihug.info website for additional details.
