The weather was a little windy Monday night but the temperature was great for all of the little trick-or-treaters who came to show their costumes to the residents and to fill their bucket with candy. A lot of smiles and laughter was heard throughout Halcyon as over 200 hundred ghosts and goblins plus adults came to share a night of tricks and treats.
Some of the residents on Tuesday enjoyed the beautiful weather by going on a campus walk outside. Everyone likes to look at the changing colors of the leaves along with checking out how the building project is coming along. We wanted to enjoy the wonderful weather before days like Tuesday become a little rarer as the month of November blows on by. Everyone is enjoying being outside as much as they can as long as the weather cooperates.
Halcyon House Wellness Department hosted Senior Fitness Assessments this week. Residents ran through a series of tests that measure agility, upper and lower body strength, power and endurance and flexibility. Residents? blood pressure, heart rate, and weight are also recorded. Following the assessments residents receive a personal consultation regarding their results and their updated health history information is collected. A big thank-you to Denny Sorrell, Jane Leyden, Gretta Embree, Karen McFarland, Marcella Reed, Glenys Elwood, Gladys Ferguson, and Nancy Patterson for volunteering to help out with the assessments.
Lee Moore was in Washington visiting his mother Frances for a couple of days this past week. He joined in the Halloween fun and passed out candy with Frances. Jeanette?s family was in town over the weekend as her granddaughter, Nicole Bell, was married.
Don and Loretta Gardner have been happy to have visits from their children. Pam from Oregon was here for a week visiting relatives and friends. While here they enjoyed eating dinner out. Scott visited from Chicago over the weekend. The Gardners also enjoyed eating out with him.
Yvonne Buster, Bea Johnson, and Gladys Ferguson enjoyed the beautiful fall weather this week. They traveled to the Dutchman?s Store in Cantril.
Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Beverly Johnson and Frances Moore!
