Lois Greiner and her daughter, Theresa, flew to Oklahoma City to see Lauryn Greiner graduate from Edmond Memorial High School. Lauryn is the daughter of Ben and Kim Greiner and the sister of Benjamin Greiner, who will be a junior at Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Russ Greiner attended the graduation as well.
Lea Smothers went to Lake City, Minnesota, to visit her son. Alice George enjoyed a recent visit from her son. Sybil Thornton welcomed her son and daughter for a recent visit.
Don and Loretta Gardner had overnight guests on Wednesday, May 17. All of them were heading to Wisconsin to see the ?South Pacific? play.
Betty Osincup, her two ?bookend? Iowa daughters, eldest Donna Olson and youngest Elyse Chapman along with Donna?s husband, Bob, and Betty?s, Riverside, Iowa granddaughter, Regina Roselund, went to the beautiful Paramount Theater Sunday afternoon in Cedar Rapids. They all met for lunch in North Liberty after church. Bob Olson drove his ?harem for the day? to the Paramount for the Orchestra Iowa Pops Concert, ?John Williams-A Night at the Movies.? While special movie theme songs were played by the orchestra, scenes from those movies were projected on a big screen. Concert Choral accompanied several numbers.
A large group of Halcyon House residents gathered for the monthly Mix and Mingle in the Applewood Bistro. Mix and Mingle is a fun, informal way to meet new neighbors or catch up with old ones! This monthly event features complimentary light appetizers with beverages for sale. The gathering this month included: Pete and Sandy Weller, Wes and Carol Madsen, Denny and Connie Sorrell, Don and Loretta Gardner, Virginia Tschantz, Audrey Stark, Erma Ropp, Becky Patterson, Jane Leyden, Larry Canfield, Betty Osincup and Mona Paul.
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Doris Cornelius and Wayne Barta.
