Recent weekend visitors of Bea Johnson, were her niece Celina and Robert Johnson from Oklahoma. They met friends on Saturday evening at the Pizza Ranch.
Peg and Bob Gerot had a family get-together in the Timmins Dining Room for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday with daughter, Laurie Pemberton and family, Matthew Pemberton, Taryn and Kyle Collins and baby Emery, also daughter Nancy and Jay Greene along with their family, Bradee Greene, Kiley and Andy Roder. They relaxed and visited in their apartment home in the afternoon.
Sybil Thornton was thrilled to have her grandson Will here for a several-days? visit. Will is a senior at Drake in Des Moines where he tutors first through 12th grade and has a second-grader who does trigenometry, geometry and algebra. Sybil was in her height of glory, running errands and spending time with her grandson. They were joined by grandson Don and his girlfriend, Szidi from Libertyville, Illinois. The foursome enjoyed a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner in Iowa City and family together time. They left no leaf unturned, with cheering on the Hawkeyes in Washington, to visiting a restaurant in Ainsworth and returning to Washington where they enjoyed eggplant and spaghetti. Did you know that eggplant is a ?no no? for anyone with arthritis? They watched ?Saints and Strangers? while playing Maneuver, snacking and labeling pictures.
Mabel Lenz was joined by her son-in-law Mark Mosier for Thanksgiving dinner. They were happy to be offered one of their favorite desserts, mincemeat pie. Warren and Kathy Otterberg also joined them for the meal.
Bob and Winnie Friese, along with son Dave and grandson Ryan enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner in the Timmins Dining Room.
The Mottet family gathered in the cozy Marshall Game Room to share Thanksgiving dinner with their folks, Carol and Joe Mottet. Rob and Julie Johnson, Dan and Barb Mottet, Tim Mottet and Rick Gonzales, along with their granddaughters, Dana and friend Bill from Missouri, and Brenna Greiner, for the afternoon of reminiscing family stories.
George Antolik stopped in to see Walt Pacha on Thursday. They did some visiting and had a cup of coffee. Walt is so pleased that George bought and lives in his house and he knows everything is being taken care of.
Alan and Margrette Utech were guests of Kay and Rich Bennett as well as Nikole and Nathan Anderson and their four children from Wisconsin, Judy Johnson from Kewanee, Illinois, along with Tom and Stone Johnson from Cambridge, Illinois. Jerry and Sharon Edmund and sons, Jesse and Tara and family from Cedar Rapids and Jason and Jayme Edmund joined in the family get together. Margrette remarked that she had seven great-great-grandchildren under the age of seven-years-old whom all enjoyed on Thanksgiving Day.
Jeanette Vittetoe hosted a family Thanksgiving Day get-together in the Timmins Dining Room. Those that were able to attend were Bob and Brenda Vittetoe, Don, Alicia and Emily Vittetoe, Jan, Jeff and Ryan Bell and Julie and Kaylie Vogel,
Lyle and Judy Webb from Oskaloosa visited Joe and Carol Mottet on Monday afternoon in celebration of Joe?s 85th birthday. Dan Mottet was also here to wish his dad a Happy Birthday.
Betty Porter enjoyed the company of daughters, Patsy Porter, Bobbie and Joe Schiebel, for Thanksgiving buffet in the Timmins Dining Room. Pretty sure that they spent the afternoon playing cards.
Frank and Kari Greiner and children, Brandon, William, Josie, Lillian and Augusta joined mom/grandma, Lois Greiner in the Timmins Dining Room for the Thanksgiving feast that was prepared by the awesome dietary team members.
Thanksgiving dinner guests of Izy Flander were in the Timmins Dining Room were her sons, Murray and Jane along with Randy and Cindy Flander. After dinner they returned to the apartment where Isy was treated to the royal treatment of watching the kids put out her Christmas decorations.
Ellen Perdock was surrounded by family members for Thanksgiving dinner. Ellen?s daughter-in-law Betty and Bob Hagen from Knoxville along with Chad Vanderlin and family from Iowa City, had an afternoon of visiting together.
It?s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as you walk through the Halcyon campus. The trees and lights are up, decorations galore, and the race is on as everyone hustles with the holiday excitement. Once again, the ninth Annual Holiday Craft and Vendor Festival is happening this Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the Halcyon campus.
Bess Edwards, Jane Weber, Anna Hysell, Dorothy Nelson, George Davison, Ellen Glassel and Leo McGinnis enjoyed the outing to attend the municipal band?s Christmas concert at the Lutheran Church on Sunday.
