Ginny Tschantz had a great time with her brother, Phil and Lois Myers from Golden, Colo. They attended the wedding of their great-niece in Nevada, Iowa, over the weekend. They spent the night in Ames and back to Washington the following day.
Wednesday was an exceptional day for Victoria Griffith as she greeted her visitors from Sanger, Texas. Great-granddaughters, Evie and Victoria along with their mom Shannon are splitting their time between Waterloo where the other great grandmother lives. Vacation in Iowa has been great as the girls got to see their first lightning bug, pick strawberries, visit animals and eat ice cream as the main course for dinner. The Texans are staying with their Aunt Susan Griffith in Iowa City.
Dorothy Irene Dunkerton and husband Tim flew in from Seattle, Washington to spend a week with her mom, Frances Moore. The Dunkerton?s were happy to stay in the guest room on campus where they enjoyed all the flexibility of visiting and dining options.
On Thursday, Phyllis Lyle welcomed her son, Ron and Christy Lyle, granddaughter Angie and great granddaughters, Jeslyn and Jori Brechler from Queen Creek, Arizona. The family had lunch in the Timmins Dining Room and caught up on the latest news. They will attend a wedding in Cedar Rapids on Saturday.
Lela?s Topic of the Day was about flowers. She brought a bouquet of flowers that her husband had received on Father?s Day. Lela described the different types of flowers and had researched each kind and shared the detailed information with the group. She also read a Fourth of July story that was interesting. The finale was pictures that she passed out and the residents got a chance to color, which is a very relaxing activity.
Pastor Maureen Howard of the Immanuel Lutheran Church led the congregation at the Epworth Chapel on Sunday. The sermon was titled ?Get in the Boat? and the scripture was from Mark 4: 35 - 41. Barb Ramsey was the pianist for the service.
The Caregivers Support Group continues to meet every third Thursday of the month in the Marshall Game Room. The Washington County Hospice presented the program addressed to the support group. More information is available at Lending Hands.
