Minister David Cotner, representing Prairie Flower Baptist Church, provided the weekly chapel service to Halcyon House residents on Sunday, June 2, 2019. The sermon title was 'What are you afraid of?” Scripture from Psalm 56 was shared with those in attendance. Tim O'Tool was the special music guest.
On Thursday evening, May 30, at 5 p.m., all of the residents of Halcyon House were treated to a wonderful antique tractor parade. Sixty-eight tractors came driving through the campus, showing off so many makes and models of tractors. The parade proceeded on to the downtown square to further celebrate Ag Day.
On Friday afternoon, May 31, residents were treated to a look back in time. Ed and Pam Hartsock came to Timmins Event Center to give their presentation for the Lifelong Learning program. Ed and Pam have traveled to Tombstone, Arizona, for 10 years to participate in Helldorado days, celebrating the Old Wild West. They were dressed in authentic period western clothing and had photos to show off their adventures. It was a fun afternoon, which concluded with root beer floats for everyone.
On Monday, June 3, residents enjoyed the monthly birthday club in the Applewood Bistro. Residents enjoyed coffee, doughnuts, juice and good company. Residents in attendance were, Tish Cory, Don Gardner, Diana Vittetoe, Lila Davis, Isy Flander, Connie Sorrell and Rose Mary Worley. Rose Mary also had special visitors with her. Her daughter, Amy and Amy's two daughters were in town for the weekend and were able to join her in the celebration.
