The winter blahs are not keeping the household residents down; they spent the week partying it up with a Hawaiian Luau. Halcyon House environmental services team member, Dave Liles, got into the spirit of the week and dressed in a grass skirt and coconut bra. Lucy Reid, 2-year old daughter of Certified Nursing Assistant, Taylor Reid, in costume performed the Hulu. Halcyon House family members brought several delicious dishes to pass during the Luau Luncheon. Halcyon House dietary team served ham, pineapple, little smokies, party potatoes, and green bean casserole. The Activity Department decorated each household with coconuts, palm trees, brightly colored beach towels and sea shells.
Halcyon House Independent Living residents and Well Ahead Community Member classes are having fun drumming in exercise class. From start to finish, lively, heart-pumping movements and upbeat tunes keep the workout feeling fresh. There?s no holding an uncomfortable pose for an extended period of time; the class is always moving, always changing, and always pushing the body to its limits. Plus, the time flies by! It moves from warm-up to cool-down in just 45 minutes.
?See You at the Movies? is hosted every Saturday night in the Game Room at Halcyon House. Marcella Reed, Sybil Thornton and several others enjoyed the movie ?Going In Style? last Saturday evening, March 10. The residents are looking forward to next week?s movie, ?Murder on the Orient Express.?
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to the following Halcyon House residents: Judy Kunkel, Margaret Stauffer, Dwight Graber and Bess Edwards.
The residents and team members at Halcyon House extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Wilfred Greiner and Vickie Moore.
