Last Friday afternoon, many residents enjoyed the movie ?Promised Land,? starring Matt Damon, as a representative of a natural oil pipeline company. Matt?s character is from Eldridge, where the town died when the Caterpillar business died. He believes the only way for small rural communities to survive in today?s economic climate, are for the local farmers to sell their land to the pipeline. However, the story has an interesting twist in the end. Movies will be shown once a month and residents are encouraged to request a movie of their choice.
