HCHC offers cancer support group

To meet the specific needs of cancer patients, Henry County Health Center (HCHC) has now formed a Cancer Support Group.

A nurse from HCHC's Infusion/Chemotherapy Department will facilitate a meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m., in HCHC's Health Education Center. Current cancer patients and cancer survivors, whether treated at HCHC or elsewhere, are invited to attend.

The purpose of the support group is:

?To enhance the quality of life for people with cancer by providing information and support to overcome feelings of loneliness and helplessness.

?To help reduce anxiety, fatigue and confusion.

?To help promote a greater tolerance of cancer treatment and treatment compliance with the support of others in similar situations.

Light refreshments will be served.
