HEDRICK ? The fourth annual Bras for a Cause fundraiser will be held March 29 at the Carl Craft Civic Center in Hedrick.
?We have changed a few things this year,? said organizer Laurie Hornback.
The fundraiser will start with a pork loin supper with all the fixings beginning at 4:30 p.m. A freewill donation will be collected.
A silent auction will run from 4:30-8:30 p.m., with the winners announced at 8:30 p.m.
Auctioning of the decorated bras will be at 6 p.m. with modeling, once again, by the Hedrick Volunteer Firemen and auctioneer Greg Millikin. ?Again we are giving prizes to the best decorated bra in the following categories: best sports theme, best redneck theme and best overall,? said Hornback.
The proceeds of Bras for a Cause will be donated to the Southeast Iowa Susan G. Komen Affiliate for breast cancer screening, education, treatment and research.
Last year?s event raised $9,000 for the southeast Iowa affiliate, which covers a 10-county area including Jefferson, Van Buren, Keokuk, Davis, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Wapello, Appanoose and Wayne counties.
Anyone who would like to decorate a bra for the auction can bring the decorated bra that evening or contact Hornback at 641-777-4252 to arrange a pickup time.
