The Henry County 4-H Teen Council has rescheduled its Barnyard Olympics 5k/1-mile fun run/walk fundraiser to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Hayward Shelter at East Lake Park.
Registration is $25, and all the proceeds go to the Henry County 4-H Teen Council to help them support community and 4-H activities throughout the year. To register, stop by the Henry County Extension Office or visit the Henry County Extension website at www.extension.iastate.edu/henry/. To receive a T-shirt, registration forms must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 20.
The Henry County 4-H Teen Council is a group of Henry County 4-H'ers in grades 8-12 who serve as a line of communication between the Extension office and 4-H Clubs. They also plan 4-H Awards Night, the Annual 4-H Soup Supper, events during the Henry County Fair and other community events throughout the year. Through these activities, the kids learn valuable leadership and communication skills. A 4-Her who would like to be a part of this group can contact Traci Venghaus at 319-385-8126 or traciv@iastate.edu.
