Henry County Democrats to host ice cream social

On July 31, the Henry County Democrats will be hosting an ice cream social to include several of the Iowa Democratic Candidates for office.

The event will be held beginning at 1 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Square (Central Park). This will give citizens a chance to meet and talk with the candidates in addition to hearing them speak. Voter registration will also be available during the time.

In addition to ice cream, water will be available. Children will also be able to participate in free face painting.

Expected to attend will be:

Deidre DeJear, candidate for Governor of Iowa

Christina Bohannan, candidate for Congress, 1st Congressional District

Mike Heaton, candidate for State Representative, Iowa District #87

Mindy Fitzgibbons, candidate for Henry County Recorder

Everyone is invited to participate. Residents are asked to bring a lawn chair. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at Traction Steam, 120 South Main Street in Mt. Pleasant.
