Henry County Girl Scouts to begin new year of scouting

Henry County Girl Scouts troops are gearing up for the new year of Girl Scouts.

Henry County troops are located in Mt Pleasant, Winfield, New London, Salem and Hillsboro. The Henry County Service Unit leader this year is Dawn Hixson, who may bt contacted at gsserviceunit940@gmail.com.

Scouting events are being planned throughout the year, including A Very Best Christmas to be held in December. Plans are also being made for a glamping (glamour day and camping day) at Camp L Kee Ta after the first of the year. The founder of Girl Scouts will also have a birthday party at Camp L Kee Ta in March.

Scout leaders will have training for the fall product sales in October with the scouts selling candies, nuts and magazines starting Nov. 1. Cookie training will be held in January for leaders with sales beginning in February.
