Henry County Health Center-Wayland Clinic to close

Mount Pleasant — Great River Health regrets to announce the closure of the Henry County Health Center-Wayland Clinic, effective October 31, 2025. As part of our ongoing commitment to patient care, we will be expanding Winfield Clinic hours to support those affected by this transition.

After careful evaluation, it has been determined that the Henry County Health Center-Wayland Clinic can no longer be supported based on current utilization. The clinic has experienced consistently low patient volumes over the past few years, indicating that a significant number of residents are choosing to access health care services outside the community.

Jessi Richmond, ARNP, and staff, currently see patients at both Wayland and Winfield Clinics. Jessi and staff will transition full-time to Winfield Clinic, located 14 miles from Wayland. Winfield Clinic hours will expand to ensure continued access to care for Wayland and Winfield residents. Starting Monday, November 3, Winfield Clinic regular hours will be 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Patients also have the ability to establish care with a primary care provider at HCHC’s nearby Mount Pleasant Clinic or any clinic that meets their health care needs.

Patients currently receiving care at the Henry County Health Center-Wayland Clinic have received a letter with information about the closure and expanded hours at Winfield Clinic. Patients with appointments scheduled at the Wayland Clinic after October 31 will be contacted by clinic staff and offered appointments at the Winfield Clinic.
