The Henry County Heritage Trust will present ‘Henry County Confederates’ with Humanities Iowa Speaker, David Connon, on Saturday, June 21 beginning at 2 p.m.
David has spent nearly two decades researching dissenters in Iowa: Grinnell residents who helped on the Underground Railroad, and their polar opposites, Iowa Confederates. He shares these stories with audiences across the state. David will speak about three Henry County men who served the Confederacy.
This presentation will be held at the Henry County Heritage Center Museum, 403 West Madison Street, Mount Pleasant
HCHT has received funding from Humanities Iowa, a private, nonprofit, to host this presentation. A cultural resource since 1971, Humanities Iowa offers many cultural and historical programs and grants to Iowa’s communities.
