The Henry County Historic Preservation Commission met Wednesday Jan. 21 at the Henry County Heritage Center. Attending were Commissioners Chad Brousseau, Joel Garretson, Caroline Lehman, Jeff McPheron, and Judy Rawson. Also attending were Nancy Amos, Peggy Waters, and Cathy McCoy who have expressed their interest in joining the Commission.
The minutes, agenda, and treasurer's report were approved. Progress is being made on the Henry County historic guide book and Commissioners would like to have that project wrapped up by summer. The annual Certified Local Government (CLG) report is due in February and the Commission reviewed its accomplishments in 2025 and set new goals for 2026. The CLG report will be delivered to the Board of Supervisors for their review and approval before the March deadline. Several Commissioner's terms were to have expired in 2025 however they will remain seated through the on-boarding process of the new Commissioners and completion of the historic guidebook project.
