Henry County Public Health is planning a back to school health fair on Monday, Aug. 11 from 4-7 p.m. Kids will be able to get their back to school immunizations, lead testing, dental screening and vision screening all in one place. Sports physicals for kids in grades 7-12 will also be available for $25 (CASH ONLY). This health fair is in a new location this year. It will take place at the Mt. Pleasant Community School District’s central campus gym, which was formerly the Iowa Wesleyan gym, at 100 W. Franklin St., Mt. Pleasant. All families are welcome and there will also be community resource tables and giveaways.
“We know summers are busy and go by fast, so we want to give this opportunity for parents to get all of their children’s back to school health requirements taken care of in one evening.” states Robin Poole, Immunization Coordinator. Various immunizations or screenings are required before entering Kindergarten, 3rd, 7th, 9th and 12th grades. Language translation will be available.
