Highland celebrates Homecoming

The Highland Huskies invite the public to participate in the school’s Homecoming Week activities this week.
The school will host its Boom Night at Riverside Park on Wednesday, Sept. 29. The parade begins at 6 p.m., and line up begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be reserved seating for Homecoming Court parents.
The parade will run west on River Street (road behind Casey’s) to the Riverside Road and then South and Funnel into the south entrance of the baseball field/park.
There will be a meal sold out of the concession stand by the Highland Huskies Drill Team. Menu: Cheesy Potato Sundaes and Hot Dog Meal.
The program begins after the parade at the stage, which includes:
Introduction of Homecoming Court & Parents.
Drill Team Performance.
Lil Huskies Drill Team Performance.
Introduction of Fall Sports.
Speakers, music, etc.
Performance by Highland Huskies Drill Team.
Hank the Husky will be there, and finally the coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen.
The Homecoming game starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1 against the Wapello Indians.
