Hillcrest Academy upcoming events

Hillcrest Academy of rural Kalona announced a number of events coming up in late October and November.

Harvest Party: The Hillcrest Academy FFA will be hosting a Harvest Party for 5th-8th graders Saturday, Oct. 23, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The school have a light supper, games, a bonfire, s'mores and other goodies. Activities will be outside for the entire time, so dress accordingly. RSVP for the Harvest Party at hillcrestravens.org/5-8events.

Fall Music Concert: The Fall Music Concert will be held on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. under the direction of Shawn Sandersfeld and Donna Swartzendruber. The concert will feature the Concert Choir, Praise Band, Jazz Combo, and Percussion Ensemble made up of students from the Introduction to Music class. This Percussion Ensemble will be performing original compositions that have been learned throughout the first quarter.

Fall Drama: The fall drama, “Mom’s Gift,” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7. All tickets will be general admission and can be purchased at the door or by calling the school office (319-656-2073). Doors will open half an hour before the show.
