Trick-or-Treating for the City of Hillsboro will be on Monday, October 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. If your household is handing out candy please turn your porch light on for all the ghosts and goblins to stop by. After candy gathering, stop by City Hall for hot dogs and beverages.
Mark your calendar! Sunday, November 13 the Christian Free Church will host a Veterans Appreciation Meal at City Hall starting at Noon. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you wish to donate any funds gathered will go to the Disabled Veterans Association.
At City Hall from now through Mid-November there will be a Donation Box for people to donate non-perishable food items to Community Action. Can you help to make a needy family have a better Holiday? This is sponsored by the Christian Free Church.
There will also be a table set up with children outer winter clothing for anyone who needs them. There are lots of hats and gloves along with some coats and boots. These were donated items and will be given free to anyone who needs them. If you have a good usable coat or other outer wear that has gotten too small for your child, feel free to drop it off for someone else to get some use out of. The table will stay up until the food items go to Community Action in mid-November.
The next Hillsboro City Council meeting will be on November 14 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Hillsboro Library News: The Library will shorten their hours starting in October. New hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. Kids Time will be on Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. October 30th with a Halloween Party and November 13 and 27. We will have reading stories, crafts and a snack during Kids Time. Come join the fun! Plans are in the works for Santa to come to town to visit in early December…more on this in the Hillsboro News.
