The City of Hillsboro is considering having its town-wide yard sales Friday and Saturday June 28 and 29. If anyone is interested in having a yard/garage sale or would like to sell items in City Hall in the air conditioning, please contact Gloria at City Hall during business hours to express your interest. The phone number is 319-253-4465. If enough people are interested in having town-wide yard sales the end of June one will be organized and a fee set. Further information will be posted at City Hall or in the Hillsboro News.
The City of Hillsboro is thankful for the generous grant award received from the Enhance Henry County Community Foundation, which allowed the city to install Handicap access and parking at the Hillsboro Community Center, as well as land improvements at our Senior Housing. Residents and friends have told us that they are thankful for easier access for handicapped individuals after the project was started. While we still have some minor enhancements to complete, the area is fully functional for anyone who visits the Community Center.
The city would also like to thank the William M. and Donna J. Hoaglin Foundation, Inc. for providing substantial funding for new tables for the Community Center, as well as a variety of miscellaneous items that were needed in the Community Hall. Groups that used the hall recently appreciated having these nice, light-weight (yet durable) tables for their celebrations. The height of some of the tables can be adjusted for different needs.
The City Council of Hillsboro is extremely grateful for these foundations and the support they have provided.
