The Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Annual Soup Supper was Saturday, Oct. 20, and the Fire and Rescue men and women served a variety of soups, relishes and desserts. Those who wanted to play Bingo stayed after. Everyone had a good time winning a variety of donated prizes. The last Bingo was 'Blackout” and Paula Anthony of Farmington won receiving a quilt and a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart. The Hillsboro Fire and Rescue department would like to thank everyone who attended and donated prizes for their annual fundraiser.
Trick-or-Treat night for Hillsboro residents and children will be Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m. Any residents interested in handing out candy or treats are asked to please leave a porch light on so the ghosts and goblins know where to stop for a treat. Please drive slow and watch for the children crossing the streets. They may be having too much fun to look both ways.
The next fundraiser for the Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Department will be their Annual Christmas Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are still spots available for vendors, crafters or nonprofit organizations who would like to show their merchandise, handmade crafts or decorations and baked goods. The Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Department will be serving food during the day. Free Admission. Anyone who would like to participate in this craft show is asked to please contact Linda Carter at 319-253-4045.
