Hillsboro to host Santa Sunday

Santa will be arriving in Hillsboro on Sunday, Dec. 12 at Hillsboro CIty Hall. There will be a movie shown starting at 2 p.m. and Santa will visit after the movie to hand out gifts and have pictures taken.

There will be popcorn and a drink during the movie. After the movie, cocoa and cookies will be served, and children waiting to see Santa will get coloring pages.

To register, call City Hall at 319-253-4465 with your children's names and ages so they know how many to expect and have appropriate gifts. Adults are welcome to stay and assist with keeping everything flowing smoothly. This event is sponsored by the Hillsboro Library.

The Hillsboro Library will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11 and Jan. 8 and 22 from 9 a.m. to noon for Kids Time. The library is hoping to have enough interest to have extra hours during winter break with an afternoon movie.
