The Wednesday, April 20, meeting of the Henry County Historic Preservation Commission (HCHPC) was held at the Henry County Courthouse at 2 p.m., with nine members and one guest in attendance.
Routine business was taken care of and information of upcoming meetings and workshops was given.
The Wayland survey is on schedule and consultant, Rebecca McCarley, will have the first draft ready in June. She requested information from Pat White, of the Henry County Pioneer Cemetery Commission, on three rural Jefferson Township cemeteries.
The sales of ?History of Transportation, Henry County, Iowa?, remain strong and can be obtained throughout the county.
Plans continue for the June 12 self-guided tour of the four properties added to the National Registry of Historic Places (NRHP) last year. These sites will be open from 1:30 to 4 p.m., for visitors to enjoy the preservation and history of these early structures. There is no charge for this tour.
The next meeting of the HCHPC is scheduled for May 18, at 2 p.m., at the Henry County Courthouse. Interested parties are welcome to attend.
