History Roundtable at Fairfield library Aug. 19
Aug. 11, 2021 11:14 pm
Members of the public are invited to join John Beghtol at 1:30 on Thursday, Aug. 19 for History Roundtable at the Fairfield Public Library.
The library’s History Roundtable is a place for connecting with others and exploring diverse perspectives whether your interest is in local, national, or international history. Present whatever history book you are currently reading (even if you’re in the middle of a book) and enjoy a spirited dialog.
In a readers’ circle, conversation inevitably covers the books presented plus other topics, so everyone walks away with inspiration for further reading. The library will limit group size to 10 to ensure that everyone can be heard in the time allotted.
The books discussed last month were: Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, Sophie’s World, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Roman Way and A Rumor of War.
The library can accommodate 12 in-person attendees in the Meeting Room, and it can host this event via Zoom for those who prefer to attend remotely. Please note that the Meeting Room has its own separate air handler, and the library has installed an Austin Air purifier in that room.
To register, call the front desk at 641-472-6551 Ext. 2.
