History Roundtable to meet Thursday at Fairfield library
Sep. 12, 2021 11:48 pm
The public is invited to join John Beghtol at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sep. 16 for History Roundtable at the Fairfield Public Library.
The library’s History Roundtable is a great place for connecting with others and exploring diverse perspectives whether your interest is in local, national, or international history. Present whatever history book you are currently reading (even if you’re in the middle of a book) and enjoy a spirited dialog. In a readers’ circle, conversation inevitably covers the books presented plus other topics, so everyone walks away with inspiration for further reading.
The library will limit group size to 10 to ensure that everyone can be heard in the time allotted. The books discussed last month were: Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer, 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus, Chasing the Thrill: Obession, Death, and Glory in America’s Most Extraordinary Treasure Hunt, The Last American Aristocrat: The Brilliant Life and Improbable Education of Henry Adams, and Shanghai Diary.
The library also hosts this event via Zoom for those who prefer to attend remotely. Note that the Meeting Room has its own separate air handler, and the library has installed an Austin Air purifier in that room. Call the front desk to register, 641-472-6551 Ext. 2.
The Fairfield Public Library's History Roundtable meets the third Thursday of the month.
