Travels
Joe and Alice Hochstetler and Alice's sister, Norma Schrock from Kalona, traveled to Indianapolis for the Women's Big Ten Basketball Tournament. Their daughter, Ilona Roberts and son, Grady from Milford, Indiana, met them there and on Saturday evening their son, Tim and his children, Alena, Bennett, Corina and a friend Aaron Graber, from Goshen, Indiana, joined them.
They all had a great time and it was especially fun that the Iowa girls won the tournament. They came home to snow and to not so great roads.

The minutes of the February 14 meeting were approved as read. The treasurer gave his report.
In a recap of the pancake supper, the event was reported as being very successful with approximately 270 people served. It was moved, seconded and approved to reimburse the Fire Department for the use of its facilities and everything they furnished including, roasters, coffee makers and paper goods. It was also moved, seconded and approved to repay the WACO Food Pantry for milk, as well as contributing to the 4-H Club for their help.
In other business, it was moved, seconded and approved to give Camp Courageous a monetary donation. It was noted that Lions Scott and Luetta will once again be the scholarship committee, as the club gives a graduating WACO senior a $500 scholarship. District Governor/Council Chair Elect Nancy Love was elected to be the club's delegate at the International Convention in Montreal in June and was given money for expenses, as per the club's by-laws.
It was noted that the Virtual District Convention is April 9 via Zoom, and that the items for the silent auction are being posted on the Lions District 9SE Facebook page.
It was moved, seconded and approved to discontinue road clean-up.
Secretary Nancy stated she had written several thank-you notes to different organizations and individuals for their donations and help with the pancake supper.
Tail Twister Larry Fletcher passed around a picture taken in 1980 to see if anyone could identify a fire that took place at the south edge of old 218 that destroyed a gas tank wagon driven by the late Lee McCall.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
