Holiday prompts closures

Area businesses and government offices will be closed or have reduced hours because of New Year?s.

Fairfield city, Jefferson County and federal government offices will be closed Monday. City offices will close at noon Friday.

Mail will not be delivered Monday. The Fairfield Ledger will not be published Monday.

Area senior meal sites will be closed Friday and Monday.

The Fairfield Public Library will be closed Sunday and Monday.

Roosevelt Community Recreation Center will be closed Sunday and open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.

Area schools will resume classes Tuesday.

Garbage and recycling collection will not be affected by the holiday.

Call ahead to check if other offices and businesses will be open during the holiday weekend.
