MOUNT PLEASANT — Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra presents Hollydaze, a free concert for all ages, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Chapel Auditorium in Mount Pleasant.
"We're thrilled to bring Hollydaze back this Saturday after last weekend's snow forced a reschedule," said Bob McConnell, Music Director and CEO of SEISO. "Coordinating 190 musicians from across the region during the holiday season was challenging, but our performers' flexibility made it possible. We're excited to deliver a festive, high-energy concert."
This year's program features 190 musicians from 37 cities across Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri, including a children's choir performing holiday favorites like Sleigh Ride, an adult choir joining the orchestra for five works, including an excerpt from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, young violinists from regional studios, and solo performances by cellist James Ellis and violinist Charlene King.
The concert is free with first-come, first-served seating and includes a reception with refreshments afterward. Students and children are always free at SEISO performances.
Hollydaze is sponsored by Meadow and Main Realty & Auction.
