Home-based food operators workshop set

A workshop for home-based food operators is planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Wapello County Extension office in Ottumwa.

Workshop topics will include: review of Iowa policies and regulations; food safety basics; foodborne pathogens; and safe practices in the kitchen, during food preparation and at point of sale.

The workshop is offered in two forms: an in-person workshop that offers an in-person lecture style option of all six modules; or a blended online and in-person workshop that requires viewing one module online before attending the in-person lecture for the remaining modules.

This is not a certification program.
