Hora to attend Auxiliary Girls State Program next week

Emily Hora, daughter of Brian and Theresa Hora, was chosen by the Leon Beatty Unit 29 of the American Legion to attend the annual Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program being held June 12 to 17 at Drake University in Des Moines.
Hora has completed her junior year and is one of 300 girls attending this program. She will learn through hands-on experience about the political system involved in the government of Iowa.
Throughout the week, the girls will campaign for office, create party platforms, and hold city, county and state elections in their own cities.
Hora attends Washington High School (WHS) and is involved in marching band, concert band, FFA, manages for the football and wrestling team, ELITE Project Team, State 4-H Council, takes lessons in dance and piano and is a member of the dance team at WHS.
