Horak?s six touchdowns lead WACO to win

WAYLAND ? The WACO offense was unstoppable in Friday night?s home game against Easton Valley. The Warriors matched their season high in scoring to pick up their fourth win of the year at 64-42.
Junior running back Colton Horak started strong, scoring three times in the first quarter. Horak caught a 59-yard touchdown pass from Nik Coble and had rushing touchdowns of 15-yards and 20-yards as the Warriors took a 21-14 lead into the second quarter.
WACO started to pull away in the second quarter. The Warriors added two points with a safety to take a 23-14 lead, scored on a 29-yard pass from Coble to Jason Sammons and got a 75-yard touchdown run out of Horak to take a commanding 37-14 lead. Easton Valley cut the lead to 37-20 before halftime with a one-yard run, but the Warriors still had momentum.
The Warrior offense began to pour it on in the third period. Drew Kissell caught two touchdown passes in the period and Horak had a 25-yard run. Easton Valley had one score but WACO was rolling 57-28.
Horak scored his sixth touchdown of the day to start the fourth quarter, scoring from 45-yards out to give the Warriors a 64-28 lead. English Valleys scored twice to close out the game but the Warriors still walked out with a comfortable 22-point victory.
Horak carried the ball 30 times for 379 yards and five scores. He also caught one pass for 59 yards and a touchdown.
Coble had a strong day, going 7-15 for 177 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Kissell had two catches for 63 yards and two touchdowns.
The Warriors fell to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in district play. They will close out the season at Iowa Valley on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.
