Hospital expenses increase by 8 percent

BKD, LLP released an audit report on Washington County Hospital, in Washington.

The Hospital's revenues totaled $43,413,730 for the year ended June 30, 2018, a 0.1 percent decrease from the prior year. The revenues included $34,052,778 in net patient revenue, $7,393,367 of other operating revenue,$185,548 from noncapital contributions, $1,186,367 from property taxes, $570,141 of investment gains and other $25,529. Expenses for the year totaled $44,868,556, an 8 percent increase from the prior year, and included $24,354,792 for wages and employee benefits, $5,128,636 for medical professional fees and $15,385,128 for other operating and non-operating expenses including depreciation and interest.
